Those Quiet Watchers on Facebook

Q: What happened after hackers shut down Twitter for a day? A: Twitterers were relegated to communicating the old fashioned way, through Facebook!

Exciting, secretive or voyeurism? People who are watching your life and words without letting you know. For those watchers – that is what it’s about and it’s ok. You put it out there. Expect it to be read.

You may think no one is listening to you – but you might be surprised at who is listening. What are you telling them?

I think of these people sitting behind their computers or phones who are watching as the updates roll by. What are they thinking but not saying? What are they learning? Are they inspired and encouraged? They may enjoy a better day because of something you shared. In my new book, Bloom Girl Bloom (Real Women with Real Answers) I have a chapter heading, Sharing (Whispering Pines). Sharing and taking in to our minds and hearts what we read is valuable and powerful. It can change the way we think and act.

Remember – what you write is read by real people. You can impact lives and attitudes when you are not thinking about what you post. When people do not comment or place status updates – it doesn’t mean they are not reading yours. I think twice before I share something as to how it might affect others. Well, most of the time. Something funny is spontaneous and I often pass it on.

I have had people comment some days and say, “Keep writing your status updates. I need to read and apply them or I need to laugh and release stress.” These people are often silent until they want to encourage and let you know you are a part of their days. Some people have commented that they are going to read a specific blog post every day to reinforce the words into their actions and thoughts. That is hugely complimentary. We all need to be inspired sometimes. You may be doing that for others.  

There are those who only update in a crass way. I can do without those words.

We support each other. We share and learn from each other. Amazing personal touches are offered for better personal growth and strength.

You may think no one is listening but you may be surprised at those who do!
